Succès scolaire pour les enfants Haïtiens

To introduce teaching techniques for active learning and teaching reading, and for developing children’s literacy skills, a trainer from the Open Society Institute’s Reading and Writing for Critical Thinking Project joined a colleague from OSI’s Step by Step program in inaugurating a series of workshops for educators in Port au Prince, Haiti. A guidebook in the French language on teaching methods, Succès scolaire pour les enfants Haïtiens: La pratique de l’enseignement de la lecture, was part of RWCT’s contribution to the initiative, which is being hosted by the Tipa Tipa program of Haiti, and sponsored by Canadian CIDA. Participants come from Tipa Tipa, and from the Ecole des Freres and other schools managed by BEMHEG, the consortium of schools operated by the Eglise Metodiste in Haiti.
